Sarah Chun, LPC
EMDR Trained Therapist Licensed in Virginia & DC
Looking for a therapist who feels calm, understanding, and easy to talk to?
Sarah helps teens and adults better understand themselves, process what they’ve been through, and feel more grounded in their day-to-day lives.
Sarah brings a calm, steady presence to therapy, creating a space where clients can slow down, be honest, and feel supported without pressure or judgment. She works with children and teens (10+) and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, school stress, life transitions, and experiences from the past that may still be affecting how they feel or respond today.
Some of Sarah’s clients know exactly what they want to work through. Others simply know they feel anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or unlike themselves and aren’t quite sure why. Sarah helps clients make sense of what they’re experiencing, understand the patterns that have developed along the way, and connect the dots between what they’ve been through and what’s happening in their lives now.
As an EMDR Trained Therapist, Sarah can help clients process difficult or distressing experiences that continue to feel emotionally “stuck.” Rather than simply learning how to cope with the symptoms those experiences created, therapy can also create space to work through what’s underneath them, at a pace that feels manageable and safe.
With a background in school counseling, Sarah also brings a unique understanding of the academic pressure, social dynamics, family relationships, identity development, and emotional challenges teens and young adults face. She understands that what may show up as anxiety, irritability, avoidance, perfectionism, or shutting down often has much more happening underneath.
Sarah’s approach is collaborative and supportive, integrating EMDR with evidence-based and client-centered approaches based on each person’s needs. Whether clients are working through something from the past, navigating something difficult in the present, or simply trying to understand themselves better, Sarah helps them build greater self-awareness, confidence, and trust in their ability to move forward.
Sessions start at $190. Immediate availability for in-person and virtual appointments.
Outside the Therapy Room
When Sarah isn’t in the therapy room, she loves spending time outside with her husband and toddler, traveling to new places, and going to concerts. She’s also an avid reader of horror and thriller books and enjoys crafting and journaling in her downtime.
