When Helpers Are Your Clients: Secondary Trauma in Helping Professionals
Mental health professionals spend their careers sitting alongside trauma, grief, crisis, and human suffering. But what happens when the impact of that work begins showing up in the clinician?
Secondary traumatic stress can affect helping professionals across settings and experience levels, and its signs aren't always easy to recognize.
This 1.5-hour live training gives mental health professionals a practical, clinically grounded understanding of secondary traumatic stress: how to recognize it, how it differs from related experiences such as burnout, and what clinicians can do to prevent and respond to its effects.
Whether you're supporting other helping professionals as clients, supervising clinicians, or looking to better understand the occupational impact of trauma work, this training offers practical strategies you can bring back to your clinical work.
